THE FIRST SATURDAY OF JUNE IS HERE- AGAIN!
REMEMBRANCE RIDE
An annual bike ride to keep Dave's memory alive and celebrate his adventurous spirit.
Scheduled for the first Saturday every June.
This year (June 1st, 2024) meet at 10AM at Sauvie Island, one of Dave's favorite spots. We will be doing the 12-mile loop detailed below (same as last year):

General Directions-
Take Hwy 30 west to Sauvie Island. Left on NW Gillihan Rd after you cross the bridge, park in the gravel lot (next to Cracker Barrel general store).
Brief Bike Route Instructions:
-From the parking lot, turn left (south) on Gillihan Road.
-Follow this for about 6 miles. It will wind you west for a couple miles, then back north for a few miles more.
-About 6 miles in, you will reach a “T” in the road. Turn left here onto Reeder Road. This will take you past a bird refuge viewing point (Coon Point Lookout)
-Finally, turn left onto Sauvie Island Road for the final stretch back to the car.
A truly unique and gregarious character; Dave gave us all a reason to smile with his comedic relief, distinct fashion sense, VHS film collection, and remarkable knowledge of (and preference for) hair-care products. He was at his best on any board or bicycle, in the kitchens he worked, and around campfires and gatherings with family and friends. To know him was to love him. We miss you, Dave.
